More About The Z Bone:

Designing.  Crafting.  Testing.  These are the key principles in our continued pursuit of the perfect fishing rod. This is why Kistler Custom Rods is proud to announce the culmination of over 22 years of experience into our most advanced rod ever.  Introducing the next level in the development of the finest hand-built, American made rods on the market… the ALL NEW 2015 Z-Bone Limited Edition Xtra Fast Rod!

The All-important Blank
For the backbone of finest rods in the world, only a revolutionary graphite blank would do. In order to get the perfect blank, Trey worked closely with “Graphite Guru” Gary Loomis and his team at North Fork Composites to develop a  Next Generation High Modulus graphite blank that would become the backbone of the new Z Bone.

Using a proprietary combination of a paper thin carbon scrim, advanced resins, and the expertise of the world’s leading expert on graphite blanks,  Gary Loomis’ North Fork Composites has created one of the finest blanks ever made.

The Components
Trey has hand selected the highest quality rod components available. The 2015 Z-Bone integrates Fuji Silicon Carbide ring guides, Fuji’s most reliable reel seats, and Kistler’s innovative proprietary handles (synthetic rubber marble cork, which provides better gripping action and lasting durability).   Each Z-Bone rod also features a Hook Lock component that enables fishermen to conveniently and safely lock a lure to the rod while in storage or transit.

The Build
Trey and his team passionately pursue perfection by hand-building  quality, ingenuity, craftsmanship, and American pride into each and every Z-Bone at their factory in Magnolia, Texas. Each rod blank undergoes rigorous stress testing and thorough inspections, and not a single finished Z-Bone leaves production and testing without Trey’s personal approval.

Since each rod is painstakingly hand-built by Trey and his team, production of the 2015 Z-Bone rods is extremely limited, so make sure to get your hands on one of the finest fishing rods available anywhere. Experience for yourself why… “Fishing Never Felt So Good!”

  1. Superpower Review by Joshua

If superman were to use a rod, this would be it. I was boat flipping 3-4 pounders with a 2 oz weight too boot. Super strong and light, lots of back bone and the most sensitive rod I have ever used. (Posted on 1/29/17)

  2. Absolutely Stunning Review by Shawn

Super sensitive stick on the highest quality of blanks. It's so light in your hand that it feels like you are just fishing with the blank itself...seriously. You feel so connected to your lure at all times that the stick is really tough to put down. One of my favorite buys ever. On top of that, Trey helped me pick this out over the phone...excellent customer service! (Posted on 11/14/16)

  3. Superb craftsmanship! Review by Kevin

  4. Light and Sensitive Review by Dave

One of the most versatile rods in my locker ( I am the proud owner of 2 of these) . I find I use for most of jig and t-rig applications. I have used G.Loomis and these are lighter and more sensitive. Kistler knocked it out the park with this one. (Posted on 12/20/14)

  5. This rod is awesome!! Review by Duck

I use this rod with my customers and the customers are speechless. These rods have an awesome response to a hook set and can handle pretty well anything that bites. (Posted on 12/16/14)

  6. a joy to fish with Review by Bobby

One of the lightest rods I have ever used. The rod is super sensitive. (Posted on 12/16/14)

  7. Complete Perfection Review by Keith

This Rod is extremely versatile for any applications. For a medium heavy rod it is the most lightest sensitive rod available. This bait will work any bait you choose to throw with perfection. Z Bone is the lightest, most sensitive and most comfortable rod available. Trust me, you won't be let down with this purchase. (Posted on 12/9/14)

  8. Great rod Review by John

Lighter than air ! I've had my z bone for 4 years now and it's still one of my favs . When i show the Z bone to my buddies it's the same reaction from all of them " this is the lightest rod I've ever held " . 4 years later nothing has changed ! Highly recommended (Posted on 9/18/14)
