On the banks of the North Fork River, behind Gary's lodge is a new blank factory in Woodland, WA properly named North Fork Composites Inc., Trey Kistler and Gary Loomis (not G.Loomis) worked together again to find an answer to the need for high performance fishing rods at a value unheard of in the industry today. After pots of coffee and cokes, Trey and Gary worked together to design a rod blank that matches unparalleled sensitivity, lightness and strength. Out of Gary's North Fork Composites production comes a blank that has Kistler's signature 'raw carbon' look that provides the sensitivity you've come to equate with the Kistler name. And because it is made here in America you know it's going to be a dependable rod for years.

With the foundation of Gary's Next Generation IM Intermediate Modulus blank, adding top quality components and Kistler innovations make the KLX a rod that has to be experienced to be believed. And of course it is built right here in the good ol' USA by Kistler's certified rod technicians.

When you look at your new KLX rod you will immediately notice very little fanfare in the way of fancy colored wraps, or paid endorsements signed on the shaft. Instead, the American Flag, and the very best rod we could possibly build for the money.

Pride in building the very best for our customers. It's the foundation of the Kistler values. So you can say - ..'Fishing NEVER Felt SO Good!'

Used this rod to throw a weightless fluke over the Hay Grass on Sam Rayburn this past weekend. Most of the strikes would come just on the inside edge of the grass, but I was able to keep the fishes head up and get them over the grass without any problem. I used this rod almost all day from daylight till about 4 p.m., I couldn't even tell I had been using it. The rod is extremely light weight for a X-heavy action rod... Kistler did it again, couldn't ask for better performance.... (Posted on 2/23/17)

This rod seems to be a good jig rod . The length is perfect for me . It has backbone to spare and still has a good tip . It works perfect for me to pitch jigs around docks and stumps . I imagine it will get some duty as a frog rod as well . Kistler's customer service is top notch also . (Posted on 1/30/17)

I have had this rod for over a year now. I bought it for light flipping and pitching. I didn't really know how it would turn out, I have always been a strong advocate for at least a 7'6 rod for flipping and pitching. I now use this rod more than any of my other flipping rods. I like to use it for sparse vegetation with a 3/8 weight and a big straight shank flipping hook. plenty of power to drive the hook home, which I was surprised about. plenty of sensitivity and absolutely durable. I have caught hundreds of fish on this rod and if it was weak, I would have broken it. not a huge fan of the price, I wish it was a little more economical but I have bought more expensive rods that were not as good as this one. in my mind, this is what you should get out of a $200 rod. as time goes on, I realize that I have more and more kistlers. I think I have 6 now. maybe I should stop buying the other crap and just buy kistlers. (Posted on 5/24/16)

As others have said...this one is always in the locker...no, that's not true. I always have this rod on the deck! Super versatile heavy cover rod. Frogging, punching, flipping...I've even used it for carolina rigging and swim baits.

Sensitivity is excellent...it's just that right blend of "I can tell what the bottom consists of" and holy crap...I'm swinging on everything! (Posted on 4/22/16)

I never leave home without this stick. It is the most balanced and sensitive rod I have ever fished and the taper on it allows it to be the most versatile jig and texas rig rods I own. The sweet spot for me on this rod is jigs 1/2oz or less. The best investment I have ever made on a rod. (Posted on 4/2/16)

This rod is excellent for pitching into tight areas and pulling big fish out, the shorter length makes it ideal for any situation the big fish are holding in. This rod can handle 2oz weights with precision and ease. (Posted on 1/3/15)
