Description: With Spring warming our surface temperatures into the low 70's, the trout are coming out of their winter patterns and chasing the bait fish. Right now the ditches feeding into the bay, out of the back lakes are full of small finger mullet. The trout are really turned on right now in those areas. Tuesday afternoon I had two anglers from Houston, who wanted to to fish our Spring pattern.
We had a great afternoon. We found the Redfish first, on a big sandy point in one of the back bay coves in West Madagorda Bay. We caught the Reds on Gulp Shrimp on 1/16 oz. jig heads. Then we moved into the ditches, coming into the bay and changed over to TTF bone/diamond Trout Killer Jrs., on 1/8 oz. jig heads. We had a ball with speckled trout. Great afternoon on the water!
