Does anyone have a recommendation for the best rod to use for Striped Bass Fishing? I am looking to buy a gift for my father, and I don't know anything about fishing rods.
Spinning / Casting?
Length?
Light / Medium / Heavy?
Thanks so much!

KistFisher,
Welcome to the forum. Do you know what technnique your father uses most often to target striper? That would help with a recommendation. Otherwise, something in the 6'6" to 7'-0" length and in medium heavy action would probably work well. For more catching fun and a challenge, you can step down in power to a medium powered stick which would work well especially if he fishes jerk baits a lot.
I would go with a casting rod and probably the [-- login to view link --] if you're looking at the LTX or the equivelant in the LTA or Mg line.
