4/05/06--Mennonite Public Lake--2 Bass

Havn't been to this public/pay lake in 3 or 4 years but some big Bass have been caught there before so I decided to try it. Couldn't find any bedding Bass? Clear sky, low 80s and lots of wind with water temps from 67 to 73 degrees.

This lake lost a 2-4' of water last year when part of the dam gave way so it's changed from when I was last here. Upper 2 coves are very shallow and full of that nasty, green 'snot' so I had to clean my baits after every pitch/cast while the 10-12 mph wind made boat control a problem too.

Caught two Bass in the first 1/2 hour and thought it was going to be a great day but those were the only two bites I had. The 3/7 hit a new-to-me(and not released yet) T-rigged Vertical TubeX and the second one ( - - blocked - - ) on a 3/4 oz Vertical JigX. I think their new tubes will be a Bass-catcher as their JigXs already have been for me. They were both soaked in CB's HS.
