4/3/06 7:41pm Broken Rod tip |

First, let me say I love my Kistler rods. They have made spending 3 day weekends on the lake much easier on me.
Last weekend, I was fortunate to catch a largemouth over 9 lbs. As the bass got nearer to the boat, she took off for deep water, and the tip broke on my He70MC about an inch and a half from the end. I was still able to land the fish, and the rest of the pole served me well
Is there anything I did wrong to have this happen? I'm new to fishing, and am still working on my techniques.
By the way, I emailed you about the problem, and you are taking care of it immediately. Great rods, great company!

IMO, if you didnt try to high stick the fish you didnt do anything wrong. but im not an expert like Mr.Kistler. Kistler has info on the best way to handle their rods.

Welcome to Kistler's family sca1951. I've had a He70MC break when I abused it in trying to lift a limb and a snagged bait but never on a Bass.
Great catchin' with that 9+ lber. My biggest so far, is a 9-even.
