Trey,
I was just wondering if you guys had any prospects for new dealers up here in minnesota? Bassman Lures was awesome, but after making the 2hr drive up to see Rory last weekend I sadly discovered that he was no longer in business. The service there was great and it was really nice to be able to pick up a rod and play with it before buying , $250 is a lot of cash for a 23yr old to throw down for a rod I've never seen or held. Yesterday I did however order a Mag crankbait rod and a custom 7'6" LTA sight un seen because I trust the quality of your rods based on rods I've seen and own. I could go to one of the Cabelas stores that cary Kistlers ,but quite frankly ,they don't have crap for selection. Last time I was there they had one casting and one spinning model, not a lot to choose from. But like I said, I trust the Kistler name and will continue to buy and fish your rods. I just would really like to look at a few more before I buy my next couple this summer. I know Mn isn't always seen as a big bass fishing state, but we're here and we're here strong.
I would really like to see Kistler become established up north, I don't know more than 2 or 3 guys up here on any of the tours fishing Kistlers, It's all Loomis and in my opinion, you guys blow them out of the water. And with Bass Pro rumored to be bulding a store next to Mall of America the XPS rods are really going to be every where. Not to mention Setyr Rods is making a big push looking for pro staffers on the Silverado Cup series and offering serious discounts. I only mention Setyr because they are as close to looking like Kistlers as I've ever seen, in fact, I always thought Lefebre fished Kistlers until I looked at a Setyr catalog and realized he fished for them. The rods just look so much alike. Split grips like a Mag, no fore grip, they are even using Baton components.
But, yeah. Not to yap on about nothing all night, but I just would really like to see a good Kistler dealer up here and show people some real rods!!!

I wish for the same as you do my friend. We can't make those dealers call us up and purchase rods. It is up to them to pick the phone up. We do not have an established rep up there yet. They are hard to come by.

Until then, I guess you guys will have to contact our office. We are happy to guide you through the rod selections to help you pick out the best for your particular needs and wants.

Cabelas is very conservative when ordering. I don't know what to say about them. They sell thousands of our rods and who knows how many more they could sell if they stocked good numbers of our rods. To be exact, our rods fly off the shelves as soon as they are displayed and then it takes weeks to restock with another order, I hear.

The Setyr deal is a sore subject. They are like the old Rogue Rod company. Mention Kistler and Built it like a Kistler to help sell their product. Kind of makes me sick to my stomach. Oh well, I guess it is a compliment.

Anyway, we will continue to service our customers with superior quality and support. We are having a great time hearing thousands of positive stories from our customers. What more could we ask for?

Thanks,

Trey Kistler

Pool,

Keep in mind, and Trey please correct me if I'm wrong, but Kistler does offer a 10 day money back guarantee to help mitigate against the inability to hold the rods in your hand before you purchase. So, if you order a rod, hold it in your hands and decide it's wrong, you can send it back and only be out the cost to send it back (I think).

With gas prices these days, that might be cheaper than driving 2 hours one way to check out the sticks in person - if that option was still available to you. Granted, you don't get the immediate gratification of driving home with the rod in your hands, but at least it's something.

Pool,
Too bad about Bassman Lures, Rory seemed like a great guy, it was nice to have someone local carrying Kistler rods. I dont know where in Minnesota you live but I live in Coon Rapids, north of Minneapolis. I use Kistler Rods exclusively and have a good selection, you are welcome to come over any time to check out the feel of the rods I have. Let me know if you are interested and I can email you my phone number. Here is a list of the Kistlers I own.

That is definately an option. I live in Red Wing so you are a couple of hours north. What tournaments do you fish? I might look for you at one to take a look at a couple rods. I am looking to replace 2 or 3 7' MH Fenwicks that I use primarely for swiming jigs. It's just been hard to find a rod that swims jigs like those Fenwicks. Also might be looking for a couple 7' spinning rods.

Pool,

This year I am fishing The Fishers of Men MN. East and various others, look for the white Triton with the Kistler decals. You may want to check out the HE70MHC for swimming jigs - awesome rod!

Yes, I am another Minnesota fella. I fish hard as much as y'all do. I fish mainly in Southern Minnesota. I am just a die-hard avid fisherman who demand a lot of attention to detail. Yes, I have quite a few of G Loomis IMXs and Falcon Caras.

I've touched and sampled Kistler Helium 7 foot Med action baitcaster rod. MAN, WAS IT SWEET! Until I look up the warranty Kistler offer, I am VERY LEERY and against the 35 dollars fee deductible and 15 dollars Shipping and handling fee. I regretted buying G Loomis IMXs but they're not damaged and always well maintained. I will continue to stick with my Falcon Caras as much as possible because they have the warranty that I need and want. I don't care if I sacrificed so much weight and sensitive feel of a rod but those Falcon Caras almost won me the tournament last year @ Wheeler Lake before I knew I got disqualified. I used a lot on Norman Deep Little N and Middle N on Falcon Cara 6'6" MH and 7' MH on 14 lbs test line. Result: limit every time.

As for Bass Pro Shops building next to MOA, where did you get the information from, pool4pro? I would be happy to hear'em out from you.
