Picture of new Sam Rayburn Record?

I caught this hybrid on a Helium 6'9" APC during the Big Bass Splash on Sam Rayburn. I thought I won the $100,000 grand prize. It weighed 11 1/2 lbs. I didn't know that the lake record was 11.22lbs. Too late now!

Clifford, I don't get it when you say you thought you won the 100,000 grand prize? Did you just release the fish after you caught it? If so, how was the tourney judged? And if you brought it in for a weigh in, wouldn't that have qualified you for the lake record? I'm confused....

I was fishing the Big Bass Splash on Sam Rayburn when I caught this fish. The largest black bass at the tournament got $100,000 in prizes. I caught the fish in four feet of water near some buck brush. I did not know at the time that it was a hybrid bass. I just knew that it was a big fish that hit the bait twice and fought very hard. We weighed the fish at the boat on some digital scales and released it. I found out ten days later that the lake record was only 12.22 lbs.
