Just purchased my first Kistler today and can't wait to flip a jig with it! I went with the 6'10" Pig and Jig Special. Anyone out there have one of these? Thoughts on the rod?

Congratulations on your first Kistler. My first Kistler was that same rod. I do alot of flipping and that rod was excellent at pulling big fish out of tough cover. Good backbone with a fast action tip.
I have since started pitching so much and wanted a longer rod that I tend to use the 7'6'' sticks more now but I still use the 6'10" when I am flippin in tough cover.
As a side note: When you want extra distance on your flip, instead of pulling the line from in front of the reel and the first guide, pull the line from between the second and third guide. This will give you an extra 4-5 feet on your flip and open up more water around you to fish.

Thanks Damon. I appreciate the info. Sounds like I made a good choice in rods as I will use this to flip matted vegetation and brush. Like I said, this is my first Kistler. If I like it, there will be many more on the way.
