I would have to agree. I have several graphite plus series rods and Magnesium TS rods and have to admit, the Mags are awesome. My favorite rod is the Jig N Toad Special. I fish this rod all of the time on the Mississppi River flipping Jigs (from 1/4 oz. to 1 oz using 50 or 60 pound braid). I am in the process of ordering a couple more to try. Ond of them is going to be for my shakey heads. Are you using the 6'9" Finesse spinning rod (Med/Light) for your Shakeys? Glad to hear you're satisfied with the rods. Bass wishes...have a good Christmas.

I got a Magnesium TS as a freebie with my LTX2 rod and specified the 7 foot crankbait rod. I was not sure what to expect, but figured it was free so what the heck. The rod seems a little thick when you first get it, but is really and awesome rod. My St Croix rods had way too moderate of an action for my taste, but this rod is just right. It is like a fast action rod until you set that hook and then just loads up on fish.

I agree, I got that 7' Mg crankbait rod, and it is a fatty! It also has a lot of whip, but that's a good thing when using treble hook crankbaits, so you don't rip it out of their mouths, which are barely hooked most of the time anyway.

It seems like it was designed to be used with large, round reels for coastal fishing, as apposed to low profile reels in lakes & reservoirs, but I'll keep mine.

It works great with the new Rapala FAT DT3, 1/2 oz., square billed crank on 12 lb. line for me.
