I'm sure this topic has come up before but was just wondering what's the best Kistler rod for the Basstrix style baits. I'm currently using the discontinued Kistler 7'6" M/H Snooker Special that I got in the clearance bin at Cabelas a few years back. It's a great rod but was just wondering if there is something newer or better for this application. I don't think I need the big Swimbait Special for this technique...or maybe I do???

JIMT, that snook rod will work just fine, but if you are looking for a more sensitive and comfortable rod then I urge you to take a look at the He76MHC. The action of this blank will allow you to make long cast and the new ACS reel seat is a dream to fish with all day, and another plus to this rod is that it doubles as a big crank bait rod as well. Hope this helps!!
