10/23/04 3:17pm 10/23/04--Sumo Frog and my Helium and a 4lber--pics
Went down to a pond in a cow pasture in Ashburn, GA today with a friend. Caught a dink and a 1 lber on a Speed Worm. He then caugt a 2 lber on a split-shot worm.
We saw some movment in a little cove near some matted grass. I thew the Speed Worm and buzzed it back over the mat and got a big blow-up but all the Bass got was the worm's tail.
This is about a 7 acre pond with standing Cypress trees scattered about but no jig Bass around them. Underwater mats of grass were around the trees and in clumps most everywhere. Tried a buzzbait, a spinnerbait to no avail along with pitchin' jigs.
Went back to the little cove for another try and that 4 lb Bass smashed the Sumo Frog. Don't know if it was the same Bass I missed before
Nice warm weather--no shirt, no shoes .

Should have been a good day because of no sun, complete cloud cover(unlike yesterday?), light breeze but almost no bites. I couldn't solve what they wanted until the last 30 minutes when I caught a dink on a jig. I had been pitchin' one earlier too but couldn't 'buy' a bite. Right after the dink, I caught a 2.9 lber on a black/blue SK Rattlin' Pro jig with a Sweet Beaver trailer.
