Just so every one knows, I'm in the Army and my unit has been having a Bass Tounament for the past 10 years. This tournament was started to help a Soldier pay his son's hospital bills for cancer. So I have been fishing this for about 8 years. Yesterday it all paid off. I spent 2 days pre fishing with a angler who also needed a partner. We found the fish both days all over Lake Barkley. Each day we flipped the brush from 630 to 3pm, we had about 15 lbs each day. I know for a fact that if it would not have been for my LTA my arms would have been shot. So back to the story, we made a plan to stop in 4 spots. 2 of the spots had 1 or 2 laydowns that we wanted to fish. Our plan ( - - blocked - - ) together perfect. We had a limit by 1000am. We put 11 keepers in the boat. When we went to weigh-in, we had 19.23 pounds. We held first place for about 30 minutes. Then 3 boats beat us out, total boats for this tournament was 124. So in the end we ended up with 4th. It was great. The only bad part was my partner uses another brand (St. Criox), but he owns a LTA.
I am waiting on the pictures. When I get them I will post them.

Hey thanks for sharing your story. Congrats on the 4th place! Great finish among that many anglers. Don't worry about your partner, he'll come around soon. If the Army would give you guys a real pay raise. I've been there before back in 1990. We made just enough to get by.
Keep the stories coming and the pics. Take care,
