Hello, My favorite style of fishing is with a finesse worm on a 2/0 hook and 1/8 bullet weight. Currently I use a Chronarch 50Mg with a Helium 6'9 Medium Heavy APC with 10lb gamma. So far, it's the best finesse worm rig I have used. I was wondering if using a 6'9 medium spinning helium and with a good spinning reel would be even better? I guess i'm looking for the best finesse worm rig there is. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Thomas

I am an East Coast finesse fisherman, and I fish in a lot of deep, clear, natural resevoirs and lakes, so, In my opinion, yes the medium 6'9" spinning helium w/ a quality spinning reel (maybe a Stradic MG, AWESOME finesse reels) would give you more feel and control over shaking the bait. I usually fish t-rigs on casting gear but that is a pretty light rig that you speak of so if you dont mind throwing it on a spinning outfit then it'd definately offer more control, sensitivity, and feel. I throw t-rigs on spinning gear only when it's a very light rig with a small hook/plastic and especially when I'm going to "shake" the bait. The 6'9" MH APC you are using sounds a little heavy, action-wise, for that rig. Then again, I have never even held the 6'9" MH APC that you mentioned. The 6'9" Magnesium TS Drop Shot Finesse worm med-light spinning rod (MgDSFWML69S) is AWESOME for the technique you spoke of because it has an extra-fast action which is what I personally prefer when fishing finesse baits. I think I get a lot better feel of the bait and can control the manipulation of the lure a lot more accurately. This rod is also great for drop shots, shakey heads, darter heads, split-shotting, and just about any finesse technique you'd care to use it for. Hope that helps!

The 6'9 Medium Heavy is a little heavy for the 1/8 weight and finesse worm. I want to stay with Helium LTA's if I can but I will look at the drop shot magnesium. I got a custom Helium 6'9 medium with a slpit grip that i'm going to try first to see if that helps. Thanks for the help.
