Just purchased an HE66HC. I chose the heavy because of the weight rating and the 6'6" because of travel restrictions. After reading in this forum it seems the MHC or the APC would have had enough spine to throw the 3/4 and 1 ounce baits I purchased this rod for.
Am I loosing casting distance or sensitivity by choosing the heavy rod?
Will this rod succesfully throw Size 10 - 12 Husky Jerks?

If you're throwing baits up to 1 ounce, I think you made the right decision. I've owned maybe half a dozen He69APC's through the years and I wouldn't even think of throwing anything more than 3/4oz on that rod.

Cal is exactly correct. Good choice on the heavy. That shorter rod will perform perfectly when jerking those giant baits. Have fun!
