I just finished my club tournament season this past week, and I ended the points race in 1st place for angler of the year with only the championship and a buddy tourney left (which do not count for points). I ended the season the season with 5 wins and nearly all top 5's, including a 5 fish limit of over 23 lb. of smallies on Chautauqua Lake. Most of our tournaments only averaged about 30 boats but they are almost all real good sticks. In fact the club has only been in existence since 1999, but there have already been a few members that have moved on to the next level including Dave Lefebre and Paul Hirosky. Plus a few very good fishermen who have no desire to go pro. I also took 3rd place in a buddy tournament fishing with my dad in a 113 boat field of some of the best fishermen in PA. I am rambling on but I posted this because it was my first full tournament season fishing 4 to 5 days almost every week, and my first year using all kistler rods and I REALLY don't think that I could have done it with out my great equipment. The durability and responsiveness of my Kistlers is unmatched by any other rod I have ever used. Honestly, thats not a plug! I just wanted to thank everybody for allowing me to focus on my fishing and not worry about the quality of my equipment. I do feel that my rods out of all my equipment are the most important. They allow me to put the bait where I want it, feel what my bait is doing, set the hook and play the fish to the boat. That's pretty important! From now on when I'm fishing for money or for fun I will not be on the water without my Kistler rods.
thank you,
Ben L.

Congrats on your AOY standing. I know you must be proud. I started out fishing my first tournaments in Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma, and can definiately relate to the BIG sticks. Tommy Biffle, and Terry Butcher come to mind as those who were on my weekly payroll back then. Those boys can catch them.! I've had it handed to me more than once, but have had my chances to pay them back as well. I'm presently still getting accustomed to being delt the blows from these fine boys down here in MS on Ross Barnett. These guys aren't exactly easy on the scales either. Just thought I would congratulate you on a fine job.. Brad (#2 Whiz kid) for those who remember
