I'm considering a LTX to cover a wide range of techniques, jerkbaits, crankbaits, some worming etc. It would be mainly used for Smallmouth. I'm guessing the 6'6" M would be best but I'm open to any other suggestions.

I would choose the 6' 9" or 7' med/hvy. The longer rod will allow you to pull more line on a hookset. You will also have better control of those smallmouth with the longer rod. Either one of these rods would suit you fine.

I personally would look at the 7' MH rod for what you want to use it for. You will be able to use it for just about anything you want and you will have the extra length to have more control over the fish and bait.

The He2MC66 is my favorite of the LTX series. I have 4 of them and use them for a variety of uses, from jerkbaits and crankbaits to shakeyheads and dropshots. It is a very versatile rod and fun to catch fish on as even a 2lb fish feels big! I've caught up to an 8 1/2 on these and no worries with it handling it!!!
