Just trying to get a feel for what you guys are using in the LTA line in the 7 footers for flipping and pitching . The 70 HC or the 70 XHC , I normally fish 3/8 to 1/2 jigs, 1/4 on the tubes and 1/4 to 3/8 on plactics and fish multiple conditions, weeds wood and stumps with 15 to 20 # test.

Our most popular rod between the two is the He70HC because it has a nice flexible tip along with a good strong backbone.
The He70XHC is really just for super thick cover and is not as responsive in moderate cover applications. Pretty much a specialty rod.
Hope this helps,

Are you against flipping and pitching with a rod longer rod? If not, you might think of trying the He711THC. This is the LTA that i've used for the applications that you speak of. An awesome rod.

I personally love the He70XHC, I use it to flip and also to fish jigs in deep water. I throw mostly 3/8 to 1/2 jigs with it. I have ordered some of the longer flipping rods in the past but always end up using the He70XHC, it just feels soooo Gooood!!!! in my hands.

RLDOUG,
If you prefer a 7 foot rod I would stick with the HE70HC, the XHC would be too heavy for the lighter lures. I have two of the HE70HC, I use them for pitching around docks and casting jigs and they are plenty heavy for pulling fish from cover.

Thanks for the input, I will go with the 70 HC. Additionally I will go with the long rods for use in the heavy grass and pads with the jigs and plastics. I have just purchased two Kistler rods a HE 76THC and a HE2MHC69 and I am trying to get a feel for what applications, the other rods are being used for so I can order a few more Rods. I normally Flip with a 7'6 or a 7'11 but I pitch with 7 footers. Then as the pads and weeds develope Rat fish and jig fish with 7'11 rods and 80# power pro.
