I am.
Speed traps are the crankbait that I throw 80% of the time, and with this rod I have been nothing but impressed. I can cast 1/8oz speedtraps with no problem and have caught Largemouth to 9lbs and Stripers to twenty "Not on purpose " with this rod. I loved the Loomis cranking rod but in my opinion THIS rod is better and the price is outstanding. This rod works very well for Rattletraps and Bombers also.
My $0.2c

I agree I have 2 of them and they are great rods. You are able to burn a rattle trap with them with ease and not worry about the hooks pulling out. The rods have enough give to them to give cushion on fighting fish and you are able to cast the lightest of lures.

Hello,
I have been using this rod for the past 3 seasons and I love it. It is the absolute best buy/investment that you can make for your "crankin" needs. I caught my personal best Indiana bass(10lbs,12oz) with this rod.
Good Fishing,
Demetrius

this is the 7'foot graphite plus crankbait rod that you guys are using right ,not old composite model. I noticed in the 2006 catalog it lists the graphite plus crankbait special with a lure rating of 1/8-3/4oz but on the website it lists this rod with a 3/8-1oz rating.which is the right rating or is this a new model?

Phat,
Mine say 1/8-3/4, but they are not new. You might want to ask Trey or Clifford about if the spec's changed.

Hey Phatbass,
Caught this 9lb 13oz bass on a new " Just got it last week" KCBS7 crankin rod on a 1/4 Speedtrap on Friday. Handled the lure and the fish VERY well...

2/12/07 10:26am kcbs7...graphite or composite? |
|
|
|
I can't quite figure out if the kcbs7 is all graphite or if it is a composite rod. I have read several different reviews and for every one that says it is graphite, there is another that says it is composite. Anybody who knows a thing or two about this rod, your information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ben,
It has the action and feel of a composite rod. It also says composite on the rod itself. Hope this helps.

creationfish,
Now thats a nice bass,I'am jealous. a couple of years ago when these rods were composite models ,they had problems with warping of the blanks from the fiberglass.then on the website it lists this rod with a lure weght rating of 3/8-1oz and that it was made out of im7 graphite no mention of composite.when I contacted kistler ,I was told that this rod was a composite model and the lure rating was 1/8-3/4oz but that doesn't explain the rod listed on the this site. I think I will stick with the he66mc for throwing cranks. jeff
