Thanks to andy, i have a He76HC coming my way.

For those of you who have this rod, what reel do you have on it?

Andy reccomended the Daiwa Viento, and that is what I am leaning towards right now. or i could always get another daiwa alphas ito that is on my 7'0 MH LTA Laughing

well i'm just curious to see what you guys use

You can't go wrong with the Daiwa Viento. I have this reel and use it as a topwater reel but it would work for just about any bait especially a worm/jig.

I have a Shimano Antares AR on mine. I prefer the stouter Shimano on my stouter Heliums and the lighter-in-weight Daiwa Ito, Type R+, Pixy, etc on my Medium and Medium Light Heliums.

the AR would be a sweet reel if you can afford it I would also look into the MET XT reel and Drop Bill an Email and Im sure he can hook you up with all those. Both are killer reels and would fit nicely on that rod.

yeah my budget is about 230$

so the antares AR is outta my range, but i'm wonderin if the metanium xt has any advantages over an alphas???, but i'm definatly considering it

Go with the XT over the alphas.

I think I'm gonna shoot for a Shimano Castaic for my He76TXHC

i have a quantum on mine because i like the flipping switch. if you plan on flipping alot it really makes sense to have it. or, some people just dont want a quantum reel or if you intend to do more casting you cant get much better than a Metanium Xt

Several good opinions offered here Ben. the Viento is a great reel and will serve multiple purposes. The Antares is a fantastic reel but expensive reel. The Shimano Metanium XT is a great reel. I used to have 5 or 6 and still have 1 and it is one of the best casting reels I have. I just prefer the Daiwa reels over Shimano and that is just my preference. The Fuego is a good little reel and if I was going to go with a Japanese Shimano other than the Antares, I would look hard for a Metanium MG. My all time favorite Shimano!!!

Hello Ben,

Great advice from the crew. A great rod needs a great reel. I use the Daiwa Fuego on this rod and it does a great job. I also have the Viento and feel that it would also do a nice job.

Good fishing,

Demetrius

I have Curado 100Bs on my Kistler rods. I prefer the smaller size reel as I can palm it easier.

I have not tried the new 100D Curados that replaced the 100Bs. Has anyone elese tried the new Curados yet?

Larry
