When you say you "jumped him up into the boat", do you mean you lifted the fish into the boat with your rod?
If so, that was your mistake. The best practice is to either lip the fish or net it into the boat. Never lift the fish into the boat with your rod. Yes, you see the Pro's do this all the time on TV, but it is the wrong thing to do both for your equipment AND the fish.
All fish have a protective slime coat over their scales. This coating helps protect them from bacteria and viruses. When you flip them into the boat, this coating is rubbed off onto the carpet and whatever else they flop against. This plus the added stress of being thrown onto the hard surface of the boat's deck is extremely harmful to the fish.

Tyler,
Just from what you have described I would have to say it was NOT the fault of the rod.
God Bless
Mike

I've jumped many bass over 2lb into my boat with other rods that are medium and they didnt break . Maybe I should stick with panfish with this one. I've enjoyed the
rod up to this point. I just think a $230 rod should not break on such little
pressure. After all it was only a 2 lb bass.

Good... glad you at least grab the line Tyler, but it is still something you should not do - in my opinion - if you care for your equipment. Many higher priced rods are made of more brittle graphite for better sensitivity and are not intended for ths kind of treatment.
When you swung the fish into the boat, you probably created a high stick situation (rod pointed straight up but still under load) while trying to grab the line. This will snap a rod almost every time.
As CF suggested, you should email Kistler directly with your issue.

Thanks, guys. Don't get me wrong, I still love the lightweight and sensitivity
of the rods. I'm sure Kistler will take care of this for $50. Do you know if they
will allow me to get the med/hvy as a replacement for the medium as long as I pay the deductible? Its the same price.
Or is the replacement program only for an identical rod. Just curious.

Tyler,
I'd ask them directly but I'm pretty sure they'll let you switch it out.
