Ok, this is an unscientific comparison... but. I am lucky enough to own both of these rods in addition to the He711HC. While the He76HC has the same line weight and lure weight ratings as the FSR905X GLX, these two rods are polar opposites in terms of weight and action.

I could not believe how incredibly light the He76HC was when I took it out of its wrapper not 30 minutes ago. It should be outlawed! Up until now, I had been on the fence between the Helium rods and Loomis GLX. For the price, obviously, the Helium was a much greater value, but tossing cost aside, I wasn't so sure. Let me tell you, I am now.

The Kistler flipping rods are far and away superior - not only are they light, their tip action is soft and responsive - just how any fishing rod should be! All this praise and I haven't even got them out on the water yet. That's for tomorrow!

I just wanted to make this post and bring to light what I discovered in a direct, head to head, hand held comparison. Just in case anyone was on the fence.

Tomorrow, they face off on the water Smile

Good luck tomorrow and I'm glad to hear about the heavier weight Helium. I just have the MC weight that I use primarily for topwater baits, cr/baits, and Rogues. If you're like me, you'll come back from using your new Helium.....................and order another one Laughing !

Hey Lightingrod,

Thanks... yeah.. I have the He76MC too along with a few other Helium rods, but the He76HC REALLY stands out as something different and unique. The He69APC is a pretty awesome rod too.

tight lines!

Wait until you try Carolina rigging with that rod. Enough length to lift the weight over rocks and other obsticles, but sensitive enough to feel even the lightest bite. Don't second guess those subtle taps, set the hook!

Well, I'm doing my part to create some inflation Wink in Texas. I just ordered an [-- login to view link --] extra-Heavy model instead of the Heavy Casting model you posted about sde. I hope I 'done good'? I want to use it for pitching a 3/4oz jig, casting a swimbait, and maybe for C-rigging.

IT just arrived Laughing --in perfect condition! Now, I've got to get it home by carrying it in the 'bed' of my F150 Lightning pickup.

I need to correct my statement at the very top of this thread where I said the He76HC and the FSR905X GLX had the same line and lure weight ratings... I was off... the FSR905X GLX actually measures up with the same ratings as the He76XHC ... so as a result, I ordered one of those so I could test them side by side too... Twisted Evil

This, of course, does not detract from my admiration of the He76HC - still my favorite Helium rod to date. Rolling Eyes
