The Grass Puncher is way to heavy of a rod to be chunking a lippless crankbait with.
A better rod for both of these techniques will be our KFGS73. This rod has more tip action and will work fine with the cranks and better with big jigs in the grass. Remember that when fighting the fish around the boat with a treble hook baits will require close attention to the drag.
With stiffer rods, it is easy to pull the hooks away from the fish when they jump or surg away from the boat.
Good Luck,

I know of dozens of guys who are using their He70HC to rip rattle traps through the grass with great success. This is also the best rod choice for jigs and worms in the heavy cover.
