i figured i would put this in this forum because you guys (and gals) have used the lta2's.. i have a lta7mh and i love it.. im looking into getting a lta2 7ft MH mainly for texas rig and jig fishing and i am wondering if it is worth the extra cash? And what makes it better than the already great lta? thanks... Very Happy

The LTX rods are lighter, and just a tad more sensitive to me than the LTA rods. The LTX rod is a good choice if you like the split grip handle, and super light weight rods. I love mine, and am sure you will also.

I have both the LTA and LTX in 7' MH. If you are thinking LTX for jigs I`d step it up to the 7' H action. The MH has a lighter action/power and IMHO would not handle jigs well.

Your right Steve I forgot to mention that. Top fish a jig unless all you fish is 1/4oz jigs, you will be better off with a heavy action rod. Let us know if you have any more questions, or if you decide what model to get.

the 7'mh lta that i have is working excellent for my 1/4-1/2oz jigs and texas rigs so is the ltx gunna be different than that? around where i live and fish there isnt alot of major heavy cover if that makes a difference?some pads here and there but thats about it. thanks...

I prefer the LTX rods personally. The difference between the two rods is the LTA has a faster tip than the LTX. The LTX has the the split handle which I find gives the rod more sensitivity. I don't know the actual weights for each rod, but I find the LTX to be lighter than the LTA. They are both great rods, and are one of the most popular models.

Very Happy
