3/18/08 8:25am Caught on a Magnesium Crankbait Composite Fiberglass/Graph |

I caught this fish in a recent Bass Champs Tourney
on Amistad. I was throwing a Shallow Running Crankbait
on the Magnesium Crankbait Comp Fiberglass/Graphite Rod.
It loaded up perfectly and handled the fish extremely well.
I love the casting distance you get with small crankbaits. Great rod.
Trey...I promise the Kistler logo is behind the fish. lol

Sweet bass!
I couldn't agree more about the "whip" that the 7' Crankbait Composite glass/ graphite rod tip offers.
We were pre-fishing at Lake Monroe in IN for a tournament tomorrow, so with no pressure I was throwing and testing various cranks on this rod with 12lb. line on a baitcaster.
It really rocks at zinging 1/2 Red Eye Shads from Strike king, as well as various DT's from Rapala, like the new DT FAT SS3, 1/2 oz, square bill shallow runner, and the DT7's, 10's, and even a light weight DT4.
We'll see if the DD22's and Storm Wiggle Warts over work it or not tomorrow, as the water is still 42-46 degrees and the fish are hanging out deep near 20ft, even with all of the flooding going on.
I can't wait to see how it handles a reaction strike from a hog, on one of the cranks, but it sounds like it should be no sweat.
Thanks, Jason
