I am looking for a kistler that is a little bit on the lighter side for lighter texas rigs, finesse football jigs, finesse jigs, and maybe even lighter poppers. I basically want a lighter all-purpose rod with a fast and stiffer action. Is this rod well-suited for these techniques I speak of or is there something better for me? I already have the 6'6" Mag TS MH All-Purpose, 6'9" MH APS Helium LTA, 7' H Jig N Toad special for casting rods so I wanted something on the lighter side...

hey Cape,
that's a great rod...one of my favorites. I use it with lighter jigs and tx rigs...usually 3/8, 1/4, 1/2.... the sensitivity is great. you can't go wrong with that rod. I never used it for poppers but i wouldn't think it would be a problem. hope this helps.

That is a great rod for texas rigs, buzz baits, smaller jigs, bigger spinner baits and such. I don't think it is a good choice for poppers. You need a rod that is not so stiff for poppers. The Magnesium Top Water - Jerk Bait Special 6' 8" Fishing Rod MgTWJBM68 is what I use. I fish tons of topwaters such as Yellow Magics, Megabass poppers, spooks, and such on the topwater rod, and it works great.

Look below and you'll see where I used this rod for a 3/16 oz shakee head. Fished it with same size texas rig worm the next weekend and loved it. Has enough tip to throw light weights accurate and enough backbone to fight a good fish from cover. I flipped a couple of 3 lb'ers over the side of the boat.
