hello, im jumping ship from shimano to kistler rods. im looking to buy a few flipping sticks, but im not sure what to buy. im fishing the flw stren series (northern division) and two of the tournaments are on the potomic, and champlain. i will be flipping heavy matt's and chestnut beds in 10' of water or less. i think im going to buy the 7' grass puncher and i also want a 7 1/2 lta telescopic. i will use anywhere from 1/2 to 1 1/4 ounce jigs or flippin weights. should i go with the lta 7 1/2' extra heavy ?? thank you very much for the help.

I would definitly get the 76 extra heavy for flipping. If your planning on flipping the mats on the potomac with braid and a heavy weight you will need this rod or the 7 11 flippin stick. You want all the leverage you can get there. The grass puncher rod will also be a good choice for a 7 footer. I would go with a 7 ft LTA in the heavy action for frogs or flippin. Have you fished the potomac often??

In my opinion, anytime you are flippin heavy cover use the heaviest rod you can get away with. I have the HE76XHC one piece, it is incredibly light and sensitive and has all the power I need for pulling bass from heavy cover. This rod has made me a lot of money over the last few years!
