Hi there, I am curious about the Graphite Plus Frog and Slop rod(KFGS73), and I am wondering if anyone owns this rod and what are the characteristics of this rod compared to other Frog rods. I have felt other Kistler rods, but not this particular model. Thanks in advance for the help and info.

This rod is great- you can fish all day with it and not even know it, it has plenty of backbone to haul fish out of the nastiest cover and has enough tip to cast under brush etc.

Travis -
I bought this rod last year without having the advise of anyone who had used it so I was not sure what to expect. I must say, I love the rod and am not sorry that I bought it. I like the 7'3" length because I can work the bait easily and still have enough rod (and backbone) to get a solid hook set and get the fish out of the grass/pads. Like all of my Kistlers, it is light enough that you can fight fish, not fatigue all day long. You will not be disappointed in this rod!!!

I use this frog rod on a frequent basis. I have not had any problems with the guides and/or reel seat. It has been a great rod and I would order another one in a heart beat.

I have the Magnesium Jig n' Toad Special 7' Heavy arod, and love it. I also use 65 lb braid on it with no problems. The guides on the rod will never groove due to braid. The rod is super light so you can throw frogs all day. It is also a great rod to fish a jig on after it gets too cold to fish frogs.

I throw 65 lb braid on my frog and slop special (graph plus). I have not had any problems with the guides groving or anything else. I also own the Mag TS 7' jig and toad still a great rod that I have had no problems with using braid either.

SDBasser,
I have the frog & slop rod and it performs perfectly as intended, great tip for casting & plenty of backbone. I use 65lb braid and have not had a problem. You will not be sorry you bought this rod.
