Next on my list is a spinning rod for skipping docks. I think I want to go with 6'6" to improve accuracy, but I'm not sure if I should go with M or MH. Medium would let me get a little more whip, while MH would be stronger to pull them out before they can get hung up. Any thoughts?

zelmo,

EVeryone I know uses at least a MH power with a fast tip. Our Dock Skipping Special is a super nice rod build just for this technique. I've always noticed that the shorter rods provide better accuracy. We have other 6'6" spinning rods if you are more confident in a longer rod.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Trey. Other than the control due to the shorter length, how would the KDSSS63 compare to the HE66MHS?

Notice the handle is 2 inches shorter on the KDSSS63. They both will work great. It is up to you to pick. Heck, get both. Ha Ha LOL.

Well, I am ready to pull the trigger on this at a show this weekend where I know a vendor that carries Kistler will have a booth. I've decided to get the LTA, probably in 6'6". I'm still trying to decide on M or MH. Will I be able to throw a weightless 4" Senko with the MH? I'm a little worried about that becasue the specs say it is good for 1/4 oz and up.

don't pay much attention to that label. The MH will cast a weightless 4" senko as good as a M. You should be concerned more about the hook set power and fish fighting backbone more than anything else, in my opinion. open water= med. water with cover=med-hvy.

Enjoy shopping at the show!
