Took a little time mid-day today to head to a new destination only 45 minutes from my house - Calero Lake in San Jose, California.

I had the itch to throw some cranks so I brought with me my He76MC matched with a Conquest 51. On my second cast with this rig throwing an 1/8 oz crystal craw Luhr Jensen Speed Trap, I caught this very hard fighting 2 pounder.

I was pretty psyched. I fished for about 2 hours from 11:00am to 1:00pm and landed about 7 fish. The best of the day was this three pounder.

The He76MC makes a great cranking stick and fantasic rod with which to fish from shore. Think I found a fun place to go enjoy lunch now and then. Smile

Very nice! You've got the touch (and a dang long lunch hour)!

Next time, throw a fishing kayak in the back of the truck so you can put in on that pond for some drift fishing. Wink Add a couple of rod holders and folks might mistake you for me! Surprised
