7/25/06 8:15am Question on equiptment for a new move ?
Hey everyone I now live in California, and I am making a move to Texas real soon. I Know I need a flipping stick plus alot of more heavy equiptment. I have 3 LTA rods 6'9" APC 7' medium heavy and a 7' medium for crankbaits that I know will be obsolete in Texas. I need a alot of new rods im sure, which ones do you suggest even though I have a good idea. I have Cali down with tourneys and such but I know Texas will be another world. My goal is to guide out there eventually when I take the time and get it down. Thanks B

I see nothing wrong with the rods you have. I use all the above myself. If I were you I might add the 7'6" heavy (HE76HC) and the 6'6"medium for topwater/jerkbaits (He2MC66) to round out my arsenal and then build from there. What part of Texas you moving to, and welcome to the forum!!

Hello,
Welcome to the forum. Great advice from Andy. The only thing that I would strongly recommend is that if you plan on fishing hydrilla...you really need the He 7'6" XH rod. It has the power to pull those bass out of just about any cover.
Good fishing,

Thanks for the advice my thoughts were right on with the 7'6 or the bigger 7'11 rod. I really thought the other medium heavies would be good but the Medium I thought was a little light for my crankbait stick and would have to step upto atleast to a medium heavy. I dont know what I would use it for It could pull it off. Well Im moving in between Ft.worth and Dallasrel close to Lake Lewisville and Ray roberts and all the others in that area. It should be great for fishing Bye bye beach but more time for fishing.
