Which Helium LTA ?

I am new to the forum, but not to Kistler. I discovered Kister throught the Fishers Of Men National Tournament Trail. I have 3 Kistler Graphite Plus rods, and I love them. I am planning on switching over to all Kistler Rods, but I will have to do it a little at a time. I am a Student Minister, so I have to stick to the budget!
I was planning on getting either the HE69APC or the HE70MHC. I want a good all purpose rod to use for Senkos, light Texas rigs, small jigs/swim jigs, spinnerbait or chatterbait. I would like to hear from some people who have used both. Also, what about the new Magnesium rods. Should I consider one of those, or go with the Helium LTA.? I don't mind saving up a little more to get a great rod, but I think the new Helium 2 LTX's are a bit too much for my budget. I look forward to hearing from an experienced Helium user.

Welcome to the forum. My vote would be for the He69APC. I find it more suitable for a wide variety of applications than the He70MHC because of it's shorter handle. The difference from reel seat to tip is about 1.5" if I remember correctly.. not very much, but the shorter handle (by another 1.5") is a noticeable difference when casting and pitching and working your baits. The He69APC is just a tad more versatile from this respect.

I have both the rods mentioned, I think the APC would make you happy. I do have a couple of the mag. rods and think if you are on a budget these rods would put a smile on your face as well.

i have both rods and would agree that the APC would be your best bet. i use the 7 footer for spinnerbaits and deeper presentations, and the APC for nearly everything else

Thanks for the information. I'll take the advice and try the HE69APC. I'll let you know what I think after I try it out, although I'm sure I'll love it . It's a Kistler!
