5/9/06 10:42am question about the consistency of action |
I received a 6'6" LTA from Kistler a couple weeks ago HE66MHC. The rod felt a little stiffer than I am used to, however all rods are different and I just took it as it was. Then I bought the same rod off e-bay and just received it yesterday, HE66MHC. The rod I received from e-bay is more of what I expected, not quite as stiff. The blank all the way to the tip is thinner than the rod I received directely from Kistler. And pressing the tips on the floor (carpet) reveils that the rod from Kistler store is in fact alot stiffer almost like a heavy action compared to the one from e-bay. The rod from e-bay is so much lighter and more balanced. They both have the exact same info printed on the rod. Is there an inconsistancy with these rods? Is it possible that the wrong info was printed on the rod from the factory?
I want to know because I would like to send the rod back to Kistler to take a look and see why it is so much more of a heavier action.
Has anyone else experienced this?

i agree with Dan.
However, It is quite possible, the rod you received from eBay was an older model rod built on a different blank, hence the difference in feel. But this is strictly a guess on my part. Best to call the fella's at the factory and talk to them about it directly.

Give us a call and we can iron out this issue no problem. I'm sure there is some reason one is stiffer than the other. We have changed the power and action a few times over the years and this is mainly the reason. Or it could have been a rod was labeled wrong? Who knows, but we can take care of you however you need. We want you to be confident in your tools and happy with the performance as well.
