Hi everybody, my name is Mike Tobey.

I am out here on the west coast in northern California (Clear Lake, California Delta); although I am new to the forum, a couple of Kistler rods have been on my deck for a while now.
There are not many anglers out here using Kistler rods but most have heard of them but I am sure this will change soon.
Anyway, I noticed that everyone connected to kistler is treated like family and I just wanted to say Hi.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Hey it's good to see there are a few N. CA. Kistler owners in here, we have some of the best bass fisheries in the world in our backyard, are we blessed or what.

Both Clear Lake and the Delta are on fire right now, if you are looking to win a tournament out here, ya better bring in a 30-40lb bag to have a chance.
The FLW Stren series comes to the Delta May 3-6 and I'm hoping 20lbs a day will make the cut.

I'd like to share a funny little story with you guys in here because I know you will appreciate it.
A few months back I had the opportunity to fish the Delta with a good friend of mine who is also a very well none western pro, I told him that I had the "meanest flippin rig on the planet" and in fairness I asked him to close his eyes while I handed him my rod and the first words out of his mouth were, please don't tell me it's not one of my sponsors rods, well it wasnít. and he couldnít keep his eyes closed any longer, he ended up using that rig for the better part of two hours while asking me not to tell anyone about this. LOL
I promised him I would not use his name or mention his sponsors and I will keep that promise.

That rig was a HE76TXH with a Shimano Chronarch mg51.

Well thanks again for the welcome guys, I look forward to being part of the Kistler forum
