Ti guides maybe? Trouble is, are there Ti guides available with the blue inserts or any colored inserts?

All Heliums are a dream the way that they are. Maybe some new cool graphics or logo.

I have a few things I would like in a dream Helium: 1). split grip on both my casting and spinning rods, 2) Recoil guides on my spinning rods, and 3), a spiral wrap on my casting rods. I would also like a faster action on a 7 ft spinning rod with a slightly longer handle for throwing tubes. I could only imagine how light a 7ft Medium Spinning rod would be with a split grip and Recoil guides...that would be SWEET!

If I could 'trick out' a custom rod, I might see how these might look like on a Helium:
"American Tackle Casting HolographicÙ Guides
These HolographicÙ Casting Guides will provide your rods with reliable quality components and an original look. The super-hard Holographic Titanium Nitride coating on the frames and zirconia rings used in these guides changes colors (red, blue, gold, purple, pink) depending on the angle you look at it. "
If it was a bass rod, I would also add a small holographic largemouth at the base of the rod and have a matching TiNi hook keeper instead of the standard stainless one.

SD,
Cabela's carries these
BTW, I know you have Ti Litespeed bike. Custom road bike dealers used to offer acid baths for Ti frames to produce similar colors (though not the same effect) and the process besides giving the psychadelic colors could also produce a a tough coating similar to the anodization process for aluminum. You ought to look into it for your Litespeed bike.

Hey guys, we can do all of this in a custom order if you want. I love the feedback that you provide. Your input helps us grow as a rod compamy. Keep the information coming.

Those are some 'purty' line guides . The colors remind me of my Daiwa ITO reel.

7/27/04 2:28pm removable butt |

I would like to see one with a removable butt cap. One that screw in and out. That way if i wanted to weight the end on my rod I could do this to achieve overall balance with the reel. I have this on some of my other rods. And I feel that it increases sensativity. It does increase weight of course. But it feels weird to me to fish with a rod that isnt balanced at the reel.

Definitely Ti guides.
For a spinning rod, I'd like to see a Tennessee or a split Tennessee handle.
Hook hanger mounted 90 degrees to the guides.
for a baitcast rod. Just Ti guides. That will make them perfect.

Koyak- You took the words out of my mouth. The hook holder on my 7 ft ML Helium Baitcaster, is kinda tought get my spinner hooks and live bait hooks in there. Therefore I would angle it up. Gotta love the Blue Guides baby! Matches my blue Abu!

8/9/04 10:45am Hook Keeper |
|
|
Hinsdale, are you putting your hook through the keeper, or just hooking them around as shown in the photo? Just about any hooks slip under the keeper for me. On spinning rods, the line may get caught in the keeper when you hold it for a cast, so I think by 90 degrees from the guides, he means mount it on the side. A friend of mine orders his Heliums with the keeper on the backside of the rod, to keep salty baits away from his magnesium reels.
