Has anybody used this rod and what do you think about it. I have ordered this rod and was wondering if you have used it with either senkos or flukes?

SDFD,

Here's a photo of a fish I caught with my He70MHC:

Unfortunately, I haven't thrown any senkos or flukes with this rod - just the lipless cranks. It's definitely a powerful rod. That 3 pounder didn't stand a chance. Very Happy

LOL Dan,

It's a "Lippertool" and I'm holding the fish close to the ( - - blocked - - ) for that Roland Martin "SON" effect... trust me, it was only 3 lbs... Smile

I have two of the he70mhc, I use one for worming on weed lines and the other for sluggo type baits, the rods work excellent for both applications!

I also have 2 of the he70mh I threw a weightless fluke with one this past weekend and it did awesome and I did catch one a little less than 3 lb. I also throw crankbaits with with this because it has a fast tip and good backbone. It really does well with DD22's and DD14's, I love this rod. I have noticed some saltwater guys using this for specks and reds

MY PARTNER CAUGHT SOME FISH ON A POP-R THIS PAST WEEKEND PRE-FISHING FOR A TOURNAMENT SO I PLAN ON TYING ONE ON THE HE70MH, I THINK IT WILL WORK WELL.

MNBASSER,

I'd be interested to hear how throwing the Pop-R works for you on the He70MH... Intuition would tell me the rod is a little stiff for that application but that's why we try things, right? Smile

I've been using a 6'6" medium action rod so far this year but have been thinking of trying it with my He70MC... just haven't gotten on a propper popper bite to really be throwing it a lot as of yet.

Yup... that's the whole deal Dan.. lol. Most of the topwater action out where I fish has been with the frogs and the He70MC is a little light to handle those hookups - not that I've been getting A LOT of those either.

Getting used to twitchin' and poppin' with the extra length is my only concern... afterall, before this year, i was using a 5'6" rod to impart that kind of action... Smile

Well I used the new rod today and WOW it is so light. I didn't catch any fish but had alot of hits. They just didn't want the fluke today. I will say another Kistler will be in my future.

I own two of the 7' MH rods and use them for texas rigged soft plastic baits, finesse jigs, and super flukes.

I have been using a 6'6" Mark Tyler MH for pop-r's, buzzbaits, and spinnerbaits. It is time to try the He70MH for these applications and I will post what I find.

Well first I have to get a new reel for the Helium and after I get the reel I will maybe look at the 7'0MC to either replace my fluke rod that I have now or replace a crankbait rod.
