SDFD,
I've been away from the sport for about 7 years... Only just discovered the Senko this year. Give me time, I might make my way to try some flukes, but right now my new favorite bait is the zoom horny toad and that bait works great with my He76HC

NO, it wasn't a "bad choice", I just like my MCs for Senkos. I have that rod(MH) too and I use it for jigs, swimbaits, and C-rigging.

sd: The 5" Senkos(that I use) are dense and therefore, pretty 'heavy'. Just give them a try on your new rod and let us know. I'll bet you'll be able to 'slang' it as far as you want to?

7/19/04 7:03pm Senkos and flukes |
|
|
|
I've been using a 70MC for a couple of years now with a TDZ 103 and love it for senkos. Nothing pitches, flips, and skips like the TDZ. For flukes I've been using a 60MC, first with a Scorpion, and now with a Scorpion MG. I usually use a lightly weighted hook with a fluke (like 1/32 oz). I like the shorter rod for fishing around cover, but a 70MC would work great also.

7/20/04 6:42am Another Vote for the Helium Flipping Stick |

I agree you now need to order the Helium 7'6" flipping stick (HE76HC). The rod is so light, so sensitive, and a joy to fish with. Although it is rated for 1/2 oz at the low end of its range, I can pitch 3/16 jigs easily with it. The first time I used this rod, I did not notice the extra six inches in length as compared to my 7' Heliums....It felt like an extension of my arm.
Another positive attritube is that it is a one piece rod...not a telescopic version.
I hope to order another one in the next week for my next BFL tournament.
This rod is a MUST for your arsenal of Helium rods.

Thanks for the compliment. I believe in Kistler rods and I am always willing to discuss their rods with others...
