I just returned from competing in an Ohio team circuit classic on Kentucky-Barkley Lakes, and after 3 full days of prefishing and 2 full tournament days, I feel compelled to share my satisfaction with the performance of my Kistler Rods.
We established a spinnerbait bite fairly early on, so my 6'6 Spinnerbait special saw hours of action each day, and accounted for most of my fish. We were fishing shallow flats and making very long casts. It was great - light enough to long-toss for up to 14 hours a day, yet powerful enough to drive home the hook in up to 40-50 bass a day. I fished the same bait, a 1/4 oz Glamour Shad tandem spinnerbait, all 5 days and for a bait of that size, in my opinion there is no better rod for the job. I cant say enough good things about it!
When the water finally rose into the thick stuff the final day of the event, I pitched a creature bait on a 7' Helium Flipping stick to boat a couple key fish. The light weight, ease of handling and sensitvity of the Helium rod is best described as "unmatched"!
In 5 days of fishing I used these 2 rods 99% of the time. They also accounted for all of my fish during the event, which were part of a bag good enough for a top 25 finish and a $600 check.
