My question is: Iis it possible to get a Mag rod with spiral wrapped guides, and if so how much extra does that drive up the cost?

i belive that you can for a extra small fee
i have a rod that has spiral wraps and i really like it a lot
one of the big things that i have found out with the spiral wraped guides is it take a little of the stress out of the rod blank under a heavy load
just like with anything the blank goes for the least resistance....so when under a heavy load with the guides on top the blank can roll some which in turn will twist the rod to fint the path of least resistance. with the high quality blanks that kistler has you wont have a problem with them breaking of any kind but there are some other advantages to it such as........with guides on the top the line has a tendancy or contacting the blank which in turn will have a small affect on the sensivity that you feel through the line......in my oppinion the spiral wraps are not for everyone though its a personal thing i have talked to a lot of people that jsut dont care for it but i do think it is a little better in my opinion.
hope this clears some of your questions about it
if not feel free to send me a message and ill help in any way i can
Luke

i have 3 rods made by Bud Erhardt with the spiral guides and agree with the previous response. and for some reason i like having the tip facing down like a spinning rod when worm or jig fishing. well, i wont anymore cuz i got a 7'6'' helium heavy in the mail and will be using it for worm and jigs! sweet ill get to try it out in a KY Lake tourney this weekend (hoping itll get here tomorrow since i 2 day aired it). but yea, spiral guides work great and im sure kistler can hook u up!
