Daiwa vs. Shimano reels

I am looking to buy a couple new spinning reels this year.I have heard great things about the new shimano stradic,but not much about the new daiwa reels.Just looking for some good info

Depends what your overall budget is Smile ... the Stradic is a nice little reel but Daiwa is offering a new comer this year called the Exceler.. you can find out some initial info about this reel here:

at a ~$60 price point, it's going to be hard to beat. The one thing the Stradic might have over this reel is weight. The Exceler is a little heavy.

My personal favorite from the Daiwa line is the Certate. From Shimano, I like what I hear about the new 2006 Shimano Ultegra (import reel) - it has Shimano's SR technology which is similar to Daiwa's Real 4 Concept or Digigear Engineering.

Im lookin at either a new twinpowers 1000/ or S or another biomaster to go on my LTA ML. I love my biomasters, but im looking for a ( - - blocked - - ) reel for UL fishing.

Just dont over look Daiwa ive been a HUGE fan of shimano so long that I thought nothing was better than I got my fisrt Daiwa baitcaster in the pixy and then 2 weeks later the ITO AI and now im looking at more haha. Twisted Evil

I just purchased a 06' Biomaster 2000 and couldn't be happier. Though not water tested yet it seems very smooth and just the right size for smallies. Mine weighed in at 8.7oz.

Plus you get a Shimano neoprene reel cover. Very Happy

Nice thats always a plus when getting a reel. I love my biomasters, but the 06s look great as well. Laughing
