Where are Kistlers made ??????

I was wondering where your rods are made??? I noticed some magnesium rods on the Cabelas website and they say Made in the USA in the product description. I visited a local Cabelas today and saw your new rods. All the magnesium rods were stamped made in China . I did'nt see where the LTX 's were made. Could you please clear this up for me.

Yes, the Magnesium rods are built for us in China exactly to our specs. I made three trips to visit our ( - - blocked - - ) in China to create each Magnesium rod design myself.

This outsourcing was necessary to introduce a third rod line into our already large selection of rods. We searched hard to find a custom rod maker in China that builds rods with the Kistler quality standard. This company is so serious about their quality that we have even tightened up on the rods we build here in Texas.

One reason for coming out with a more affordable rod line was for the angler who could not step up to the Helium LTA $229.99 price tag. Finally, we can offer an awesome rod for only $179.99 with even more features than our original LTA rods. Personally, I sure would hate to see a serious angler miss out on using one of our new Magnesium TS rods because they are produced outside America.

I will have Cabelas fix their web site. This was a simple error on their part. Thanks for the heads up.

I was pretty surprised when Trey shared with me the origin of the new Mg TS rods. If he hadn't told me himself, I never would have guessed. The assembly and workmanship of the rod I acquired for review is first rate.
