i am looking for a rod that will be good for senko fishing. I will be using mainly for 5" senkos. What do you all recommend getting. Also this will be my first Kistler and hopefully not my last.

I would go with the HE70MC. I have 3 of them. They will load up nicely even with lighter baits than a 5" Seko(weightless with a 4/0 Sugoi hook). Some like the shorter rods but 7' is a great length(for me) for casting, moving the bait(from one side to the other, etc.), control of the bait, and leverage for settting the hook and fighting the Bass. I've caught several 4 and 5 lbers with mine and it's a 'hoot'!

SDFD504,
Welcome to the forum... funny, someone else asked this very same question last week. Lightninrod and I are sounding like broken records. I'm one of those that prefers a shorter rod for the Senko - not because size matters - but because the He69APC is a fantasically versatile rod with an amazingly soft tip for casting distance and accuracy AND a very strong backbone for working those fish away from cover.
For your very first Helium, I think this is an excellent, excellent choice.
Having said all that, if your preference is for using lighter action rods, the He70MC, which Lightninrod recommends is also an excellent choice. It has the same tip as the He69APC, has 3 inches more length, and is only slightly less stout.
Either way, you can't go wrong and either choice will have you wanting more in the end. Keep us posted on what you decide on!

Both the He69APC or He70MC would suit your needs (I have both). I use the He70MC for crankbaits because it has a slightly more moderate action than the He69APC. If you are looking for a solid all around performer, one you can use for senkos, spinnerbaits, etc., go with the He69APC.

I'll add another vote for the He69APC. I throw weightless 5" Senkos with this rod a lot and like the light tip for casting them out plus the backbone necessary for the good hookset.
