9/30/09 1:37am Magnesium Big Swimbait Special Heavy 8'0" Cast Fishing
I'm looking to upgrade my heavy Swimbait rod. I love my Argon so much, I'm considering the Magnesium MgBSBS80 Big Swimbait Special Heavy 8'0".
2 questions?
#1) Is anyone else using these?
#2) Does anyone know the weight of this rod?
Thank you for your help!

Hello there,
Being from SoCal about 30 minutes from Lake Casitas Ive thrown a lot of swimbaits and thrown a lot of different swimbait rods. Ive been using the Magnesium Swimbait Special for 8 months now and I love it. There is no problem swinging big "Huds" or "BBZ" on this rod and it is very light weight.
The MgBSBS80 is a fantasic swimbait rod, very light weight, great action and nice tip action and sensitivity. As far as exact weight, Ive never put it on the scale but I will and post it, unless Trey gets that before me. Good luck and Tight Lines.

Thanks for your input Rob.
Trey has informed me that the rod weighs approximately 6oz. The BPS Nitro I was using weighed in at 8oz.
I think I'm going to be extremely happy with the Magnesium, just as I am with the Argon.
I have a buldging disc in my neck, and any weight saved is literally.... less of a pain in the neck
