I have not had issues with the guides. However I am not a big fan of them and have numerous freinds who have had issues with them. Will the new custom rod have a recoil guide option?

I had eyelets pop out of 2 LTAs, and one tip broke off just below 2nd eye. I switched to magnesiums, no problems. Now I have 18 Argons, and they have been wonderful! None of those problems, and ,in my opinion, are more sensitive than the LTAs.

I don't remember when it popped out, because it was a guy I was fishing with that first noticed it as I was retying. Never did find that little blue ring. It was a 6'9" LTA MH. Since I have several, and I really only use about 4 rods when I go fishing, I've never even thought about getting it fixed. Until now, that is.

Love those rods!

I own 4 kistlers... 2 magnesiums ( I think '07), '04lta, and an '08 ltx. My ltx is excellent; however, I've had more line guides pop out on the other 3 than I can remember. On the LTA I've had 5 inserts pop (one of which I had already replaced before) and an entire guide depart from the rod (the guide slipped out from underneath the glue). On my chatterbait magnesium rod, I've had several inserts pop. On that same rod, the tip guide actually chipped during a tourney. The insert broke during our run to our first spot, which was about a mile away from the ramp. Too bad I learned about the chip the hard way... I had a nice fish slam a spook. When I set the hook my 20lb line got sliced like butter at the tip.

Two of my other bud's rods have snapped (one was an lta) and they both have had guide issues too.

I love your blanks, but I wasn't impressed with the guides. I hate to sound critical, but that's just my luck so far with these.

I have had and still have a ton of Kistlers, and have never had a eye pop out on me. Then again I always store and transport my rods in Stick Jacket type covers.

I'm relatively new to this site and have only been using Kistler rods for the past two years, but have had great success with the equipment .I started with the toad magnesium and now own four of those and the all day flippining stick, topwater/jerkbait rod,and two heliums 6'3" spinning (dock skipping),6'3" baitcaster.
Aside from the quality of the product, you have to love the openess of the company. What other company has a forum for its customers to give input on their products (Good and Bad) A company that adjust to satisfy their customer base. What a novel idea.To be able to express my opinion based on my experiences using their product, and knowing that they will be viewed not only by other fishing customers, but by the powers to be in the upper level of management.
Being relatively new to the KISTLER way of business,I have to say I'm very impressed with the company philosophy. ,so much so that I have changed my philosopy on wearing tournament shirts. I use to believe if I was going to advertise someone's business they should sponsor my endeavors into the tournament scene, but now I will be wearing a red, black and white tournament shirt, proudly.

I have been using Kistler rods for about 6 years now and probably own about 25 of these rods and have never had an issue with the eyes or the tips. The only problem that I have even ever heard of is that I sold my boss on a kistler rod back in January and the tip eye fell out of it, but it was the magnesium rod, not the LTA. Sorry, I have nothing bad to say about these rods. But I will say that I will never use another.

I have been using only Kistler Rods since the spring of 2004. I haved owned numerous I dont know how many. I can say that I have never had a guide ring or tip insert come out or break on any of my rods LTA's, LTX's, Mag's etc... The rods and the company are absolutely great ! It's hard to believe that they keep getting better and better. Just when u think a rod couldnt get any better they do !

I own multiple LTA rods in different lengths and actions and I have not experienced any issues with the guides, inserts or tips.

Thanks for building the best rods on the plant.

Trey,
Laughing I have owned over 30 Kistler rod's over the last three years, and have never had a non self induced problem with the guides. Putting them in the rod locker sleeve's in rough water will bounce them around every time. I see this in all the rod brands, not only Kistler. I really believe that the micro guides will take Kistler to the next level. I cannot wait to feel the new rod's.

I probably have 30 Kistler Rods in my arsenal. I haven't had any issues with my LTA and LTX Rods that weren't self induced. I've had a few guide rings pop from the Magnesium line. However, I like the odds as the rods travel with me constantly and get a lot of use.
