I recently purchased a few JDM Shimano Aldebarans basically the new Core 50. Looking to match it up with a new Helium as I need something for weightless plastics/soft jerkbaits and finesse jigs up to 5/16oz. I still have my original 2003 69APC that I will never let go but I'm wondering if these newer Heliums balance better with lighter reels. I hoping as well that you've increase the handle lengths as I do a lot of two hand cast.
Right now I'm thinking of the 70mc but not sure on the power of this rod any feedback would be great. Thanks

The He70MC has a 9" handle. This model would work well for you in moderate cover applications especially if you use floro or braid. It should balance very well with the core 50. Try it out and let us know what you think after catching a few fish.

Trey, thanks for the quick response. Does the He70MC have more power than last years blank? I would love to find a rod like my 03 69APC but with a slightly lighter tip. I handled your 07' and 08' He69APC and found them to be softer than my 03' something I think I would of liked. Any comments on compare these new blanks to past power wise? Thanks

Absolutely yes, the 09 He70MC is a little stronger than last years model.

Trey went with the He70MHC. If the balance is to far off I will return it for the He70MC. Should arrive tomorrow will post a pic with my Aldebaran mounted.

Trey, received my He70MHc today. Impressed feels like a very crisp rod and love the XF action on this blank. Problem is the first double footed guide is off to the right, tolerable yes but for $250 prolly shouldn't happen. Not sure if I'm sending back to TW as it will cost $20 to do so. I like my Chronarch D7 on it better than my Aldebaran. If you had the 70Mc in the XF I might be all over it. Thanks
