Had to share... Like a lot of anglers, I too am always trying to put together the perfect rod and reel combo for a specific technique. I have been experimenting with hard jerk baits the last few fishing trips and I think I finally found my perfect jerk bait set-up. Being I prefer tossing jerk baits on spinning gear, here is what has been working outstanding for me. Kistler He69MS, with a Daiwa Certate 2500, ten pound Toray braided line with a ten pound Toray floroucarbon leader. This rod performs perfectly with hard jerk baits. Fast tip helps you cast the braided line a mile, but also gives the bait the proper action. Handle is short enough that it does not get tangled in your shirt, but still balances out the 6'9" rod perfectly. My last few trips, I have caught numerous LMB up to five pounds and Stripers up to four pounds on this set-up. No need to tweak this combo anymore...
