Hello,
I am actually writing this from my cell phone in el salto. We've had rain but fishing has been very good. I brought with me a ltx 66mh, a lta 7h, an argon 6'11" h & a magnesium 7' h.
Good news is I have caught a 10-pounder with the new 2009 lta and two 8-pounders and several 6-7 pounders with the other rods! The big one was caught with a 6" watermelon/chartreause lizard in 1/4 texas.
The bad news, the ltx (2008 model) broke in a hookset (I did manage to get the Bass out), but I am really confused because there was no misuse whatsoever. Perhaps a manufacturing defect?... I'm quite worried because i just purchased the rod 15 days ago... Is this defect covered by warranty in mexico?
On the other hand the new lta performed flawlessly and manhandled the 10-pounder with no problem whatsoever in a sea of flooded mesquite trees, i was able to turn the fish around and work it around the trees! The bite as subtle as you can imagine, i'm sure i wouldn't have felt it with another rod!
I will post pictures when i get back next monday.
Cheers,

I'm now back, some pictures below. I have to emphasixe how delighted I am about the 2009 LTA, it is very strong and very sensitive, I was able to tell if it was grass, rocks, sand or mud every time! The grip is exceptional, cork and eva fused are like velvet to the touch and in the rain the grip is very good. On the new Argon, I had used it before and the moderate tip action makes it perfect for walking big baits (like the Sammy 128 5" I was using ), but very good also for medium swimbaits (7" AC Plug & Jackall Mikey) and also for small swimbaits like the BBZ1 shad which was very good in El Salto.

All bass were released. Here the release of the 10-pounder:

I am really a big fan of kistler rods, thanks to the quality and sensitivity of these rods. I expect to replace my LTX 6'6''MH soon to catch some big bass with it! (I sent it to the dealer today for warranty replacement), I am sure it will excel for texas rigs! and that LTX handle is superb! I can't understand how some people don't like it... I just loved it

Now I am planning to purchase a rod specially for pitching texas & jigs in heavy cover, any suggestions on the LTA or LTX line?

Cheers,

kistlero
