4/14/09 11:20pm WHAT IS BEST LT_ ROD 4 ROGUE FISHING?
Which rod is the ideal action and length for rogue fishing in southern lakes? Mainly around cypress trees and grass, 4-12ft of water. The trees are numerous so the shorter the rod the better, but what action and length would ya'll recommend? Bass sure do love that gold and orange smithwick rogue! Thanks guys, can't wait to hear your thoughts...

Hello Cajun! We have several to choose from as we have a few new models that will work excellent for this application! First and my new favorite is the ASWW65C! This is an Argon salt water wader rod but it is 6'5" and is just awesome for jerk baits 1/2oz and under in the freshwaters! And then we have the Helium's, my all time favorite is the He66MC, but for around cypress trees and other over hanging objects I would go with the He63MHC! With this rod you will get the back bone you need to horse them out of there cover and into the boat and with the length you will be able to make precise cast and it will be super easy to work those jerk baits as well! I hope this helps if you have any other questions please feel free to ask any time!

I use the Helium LTA He-66MC 6'6" Medium Casting Rod for Rogues and Pop-R's. Excellent Rod for the Topwaters and Bandit 100's and 200's.
