2009 LTA Conversion for a weight balancing system

Has anybody converted a weight balancing system like Bass Pro Shops over to the 2009 LTA?

If so, would you be willing to tell in detail how you did it?
09 are split grips?

The 09 LTA's are all split grips.

I will say that the LTA's are already very well balanced without having to add additional weight in the backend. The other issue with adding a balancing kit is you are potentially adding weight unnecessarily to a rod designed to be the lightest on the market.

One of the tricks I use is to pay close attention to the weight of the reels I match up with each rod type and action.

Paying attention to these details often eliminates the need for additional balancing weights.

I understand the rods are light and you would want to avoid adding weight. However the strain on your wrist to lift the front of the rod up to an eleven oclock position all day long has more fatigue in my opinion.I would rather add a couple ounces to the back. The rod will float at 11 oclock.

I have the rod in hand now. I have already take the rubber balancer " rod balancer" available anywhere and cut approximately 1.5 inches off of the front of it.
With the tapered split grip the balancer reduced in length fits right over the tapered end and still fits tightly to the tapered cork all the way to the end of the balancer. I cut the balancer and then held it against an electric sander and made a nice clean look. Just shortened the overall length of the balancer. There is no risk of the balancer falling off. It is on there tight.

My new LTA has been balanced. I have 4 shimano sustains. 2500's. The MEH69S rod was nose heavy without the balancer.

I understand the LTAS are light...but there isnt anything that light in weight on the market. Leverage and the laws of physics rule. There is just too much weight out front on any spinning rod.

If you havent tried a properly balanced rod, you should give it a shot.
