I just bought a new 7' LTA in a medium heavy for 3/8 to 1/2 oz jigs. I fish a half about 80% of the time however in the summer I fish a 3/4 in deep channel bends and summertime humps. Should I go with the Jig and Toad or the LTA heavy action. It would be nice to have the bridge of a frog rod for both and the price can't be beat. Argon has a 7'1 that could be a possibility. All comments appreciated. Question

All three rods mentioned are perfect. Go with the one that you can afford and are most confident it.

I use the HE70hc for 3/4 to 1 oz football jigs and Carolina rigs in deep water, this rod is perfect for heavier jigs or frogs. Buy the best your budget will allow!

i personally prefer the long rods, but there is a football jig rod with a pretty trustworthy name on it in the mg series.

I like both the heavy LTA, and the Jig n' Toad rod for jigs, and frogs. If I had to stick with one it would be the LTA 7' heavy.

crazy-
Here's my moto on jigs and rods:
I'm a huge 7 ft. rod fan, so here is my opinion on sizes:

1/2 oz. or below 7 ft. Med. Heavy
1/2 oz. to 3/4 oz. 7ft. Heavy
1 oz. + 7 ft. X-Heavy

You can even get away with a 7 ft. Heavy on the 1 oz. jigs if you want.
The big X-factor is the type of cover you are fishing. If your fishing thicker cover, step up one level in rods.
